THE MOST COMMON MATERIAL USED IN THE MANUFACTURE OF SMALL DIAMETER PROBE NEEDLES USED IN CANTILEVERED AND VERTICAL PROBE CARDS.

TUNGSTEN HAS THE HIGHEST MELTING POINT AND LOWEST VAPOR PRESSURE OF ALL METALS AND AT TEMPERATURES OVER 165° C HAS THE HIGHEST TENSILE STRENGTH. IT HAS EXCELLENT CORROSION RESISTANCE AND IS ATTACKED ONLY SLIGHTLY BY MOST MINERAL ACIDS.

A PALLADIUM ALLOY CONTAINING SILVER, PLATINUM, COPPER AND GOLD. PALINEY 7® IS A SUPERIOR ELECTRO-MECHANICAL ALLOY. PROBE NEEDLES MANUFACTURED WITH PALINEY 7® OFFER EXCELLENT SPRING PROPERTIES, LOW, CONSISTENT CONTACT RESISTANCE AND HIGH STRENGTH. THESE PROBE NEEEDLES OFFER A UNIQUE COMBINATION OF MECHANICAL PROPERTIES AND CORROSION RESISTANCE. THE HEAT TREATED MATERIAL COMBINES HIGH HARDNESS (FOR WEAR RESISTANCE), AND EXCELLENT STRESS RELAXATION (FOR USE AT SERVICE TEMPERATURES ABOVE 150° C. THE HIGH NOBILITY (Pd+Au+Pt) PROVIDES EXCEPTIONAL STABILITY AGAINST TARNISH AND CORROSION.

TUNGSTEN CARBIDE

EXTREMELY HARD MATERIAL THAT CAN BE VERY LONG LASTING BUT IS NOT BENDABLE. PROBES ARE USED FOR DIE EJECT PINS AND PLUNGE UP NEEDLES AND HAVE VERY SHARP TIPS THAT EASILY PENETRATE BACKING MATERIAL.
